WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM?

I was born in Busan, South Korea.

WHEN DID YOU REALIZE THAT MUSIC WHAT PART OF YOUR PURPOSE?

20 years ago at age 14 was the first time I stepped into a freestyle circle. The rush, I got was instant and 3 days later I sat down and wrote my 1st song.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT OR PRODUCTION THAT YOU HAVE CREATED TO DATE?

My favourite project to date is “Break Every Chain” featuring Bryann Trejo and Rey Sandoval and “Fade Away” feat. C.O.G

WHO DO YOU ASPIRE TO AS A CREATIVE?

I aspire to simply utilize the gifts God has given me to share my story and speak the truth of the Gospel.

CAN YOU ROUGHLY OUTLINE YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS – FROM THE BEGINNING OF AN IDEA FOR A PROJECT OR A COLLABORATION, TO THE POINT OF COMPLETION?

I always start with prayer. After God confirms the project is for me, I begin to write. I usually memorize it as I write it and make tweaks here and there. After I am done writing/memorizing, I pray again to check for God’s confirmation. When I get that 2nd green light, I begin the recording process.

HOW IS THE REALITY OF TOURING INDEPENDENTLY COMPARED TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF IT?

I always dreamed of traveling the world to share my gifting and once it began to happen it took my creativity, passion and drive to a whole new level.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES AND DIFFICULTIES YOU FACE WHEN STARTING NEW PROJECTS?

The biggest challenge for me began as “making the time” with a busy non-music schedule. Over time the challenge has become how music is shared, listened to and accepted in this new digital age.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO STAY CALM WHEN A PROJECT IS NOT GOING AS PLANNED?

Prayer, always prayer.

DO YOU HAVE ANY INSIGHTS, TIPS OR ADVICE FOR SOMEONE STARTING LOOKING TO START OFF AS A MUSICIAN AND LOOKING TO GET INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

My suggestion is to never force it. A passion for music and the call to move in the capacity of an artist are very different. Knowing whether or not it is a want or a gifting is key in the beginning stages. It will save you many stressful days if you come to the understanding early if music is really for you. Also, never compare yourself or mirror a style of another. Let the listeners get to know you for you through your music, not a version of you.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

My proudest moment was when I dropped my first Christian Hip Hop Album and it hit Rapzilla.com It featured Bryann Trejo, Rey Sandoval, 5ive, Bumps INF, Datin and more. Now as a member of JLIMC and JLIMC Music, I have completed several projects that I am equally proud of. Such as “Fade Away” featuring C.O.G, “Spread the Word” featuring GodInI, the JLIMC Cypher and more.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?

I prepare sermons, fellowship with my family in the Lord and play basketball.

WHAT MAKES YOUR YOU A GOOD LEADER FOR YOUR TEAM?

I believe I am a great leader because I lead from the position of servant instead of “leader” and have a lead by example mentality.

WHERE CAN PEOPLE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR WORK?

Facebook, YouTube and all digital music platforms
