3 Trends That Will Dominate the Solar Energy Sector in 2021 as per Edmund Coutan

The world is slowly but steadily looking into the need for widespread use of renewable sources of energy. Especially in 2020, when the market was hit by COVID-19, many were left at home with no money or job but energy bills to pay. In 2021, it is believed that solar energy in particular will be back. Edmund Coutan, a Green Entrepreneur working in the field of solar energy, talks about the three trends that will dominate the solar energy sector in 2021.

Rapid Digitization

In the digital age, it is not inconceivable that the solar energy sector is also moving towards digitization. The lockdown made us aware of the power of digital connections in the world. Energy 4.0, as it’s being called, will allow the solar energy sector to upgrade its infrastructure to include management solutions for energy and power. Advanced AI and machines will be used in the solar energy sector. Robots and drones will be used extensively to survey damage over sites and turbines, reducing risks to humans in the same sector.

Upgrades to renewable energy

With the solar energy market making enormous strides towards reducing costs, it will only be a matter of time before it becomes even more widespread than it already is. Solar panels have always been costly since the beginning because of the construction (and installation) costs involved and the materials used. With matters as they stand today, there is expected to be a huge drop in solar energy costs as businesses everywhere continue to make it a top priority. As the cost of solar panels drops, it is likely to encourage even the individual consumer to go ahead with renewable sources of energy. Governments will probably also introduce tax breaks that might help the citizens to easily transition into the renewable energy sector.

Batteries make things so much easier

The main problem with solar energy is space. Solar panels are huge and difficult to accommodate. The second problem with solar energy is the lack of storage options. Fortunately, in recent years, the solar energy storage market has also evolved rapidly and in 2021, it will look even better. Every photovoltaic (PV) system now comes with solar batteries. There is an increase in the sale of solar batteries, and the new mass storage facilities will allow businesses and residents to utilize solar power more efficiently. It will also allow businesses and individual consumers to reduce energy costs and ensure more efficient use of power.
